The House
Construction on The Quilter's Nest finished in October of 2021. There is a spacious front porch and back deck to sit with your hand work or eat a meal on. A path around the side with a ramp to the back door, allows for easily carting your supplies directly into the work space. And speaking of the workspace, there is a 6 foot table for each person, a cutting station, ironing stations, and large design walls. If you're the cook, you won't be left out of the fun, with the open floor plan which connects the kitchen and dining directly to the work space!
Kitchen
The kitchen is equipped with most tools and appliances needed to cook a meal. Take a look at the pictures inside the cabinets and pantry. We even have a Kuerig coffee maker capable of brewing a single cup or an entire pot. We aren't coffee drinkers and have no idea what kind to buy so please be ready to bring your own favorite brand.
Supplies included: plates, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, crock pot, insta pot, griddle, 4 slot toaster, blender, cookie sheets, Pyrex casserole dishes, mixing spoons, spatula, can opener, wine bottle opener, etc. Flour, sugar, spices, Crisco shortening and oil, aluminum foil, napkins, paper towels.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The house has 4 bedrooms each equipped with two twin beds and a "pie safe" to stash your clothes. If you would rather live out of your suitcase there is a stand in the closet which you can use. The custom headboards were made by "SEEDS for Autism" located in Phoenix. Check out their latest newsletter in the retreat binder. Sheets, pillows, blankets, and towels are provided.
Bathrooms have "comfort height" toilets which are a little higher. The master and hall bathrooms have a shower/bath combination while the front bedroom has a shower only for those not comfortable stepping over the side of the tub. A tankless hot water heater ensures all guests will have as much hot water as they need.
